Giro d’Italia cycling race will take a detour through Slovenia this year!
The 15th stage of the cycling race will take the world’s best cyclists to the winemaking region of Goriška Brda and through the city of Nova Gorica in the west of Slovenia!
Starting in Grado, Italy – Giro d’Italia 2021 will be held on 23 May 2021 (Sunday). After seventeen years, the spectacular Italian bicycle race Giro d’Italia will again run through Slovenia.
Giro in Slovenia
The cycling caravan will ride for two hours through Goriška Brda and then four kilometres along the Slovenian-Italian border in Nova Gorica, where it will even pass Trg Evrope (Transalpina Square).
The stage will end in Gorizia, Italy.
An important factor in bringing the Giro back to Slovenia was the outstanding achievements of Slovenian cyclists Tadej Pogačar and Primož Roglič, and the success of a previous Slovenian stage of the race across charming Goriška Brda hills.
