GLAMOUR + CAMPING = GLAMPING
The word glamping is a combination of the words “glamour” and “camping. According to the Oxford Dictionary, glamping is “a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.” The word was first used in the United Kingdom in 2005, but wasn’t added to the dictionary until 2016.
Glamping is also known by other names, including luxury camping or boutique camping.
IT’S ECO-FRIENDLY STYLE OF HOLIDAYS
So is the camping, you will say. Absolutely true! But those who prefer glamping to camping usually like being out in the nature with a comfort of home. Meaning, having a real bed and electricity and not having to share bathroom with other guests or campers. Additionally, many glampings are often supplied with resort-style toiletries, coffeemakers, and sometimes even full kitchens.
These days, glamping accommodations have become even more luxuriously lavish, with posh amenities such as flat-screen TVs, pillow-top mattresses, jetted tubs, heated slate floors etc.
ACCOMODATIONS TO SUIT ANY TRAVELER’S TASTE AND BUDGET
From glamping tents and yurts, to cabins, cottages, and treehouses, there are dozens of types of accommodations available for those seeking a mixture of rustic luxury and unspoiled nature. They range in price from as little as 50 EUR per night to thousands per night, depending on the level of luxury.
Glamping enthusiasts say you can’t put a price on waking up to the sound of native birds and the sound of a stream nearby. The most positive aspect of glamping for the owners is the added value the people are willing to pay for these experiences.
GLAMPING SITES ARE TAILOR-FIT TO THE AREA’S NATURAL FEATURES
Because of how interlinked they are with the area, glamping sites also do their best to highlight the area’s natural features. But the communal outside area was designed for meeting hikers and exchanging hiking experiences and tips under the trees and over barbecue.
On the other hand, more luxurious Garden Village Bled, with more types of accommodation (glamping tents, pier glamping, tree houses and cabins) offers free garden food right in front of glamping tents, as well as lovely beach by the river and a restaurant by the pool.
Here, you can fall asleep amid treetops, swim in the beautiful natural biotope, enjoy a massage on the wooden pier up above the stream and indulge in a variety of culinary delights on the terrace of their “Greenhouse” restaurant.
