Gostilna Pri Martinu – a really good local restaurant in Kranjska Gora
When you find yourself in Slovenia’s most famous mountain resort of Kranjska Gora, surrounded with Julian Alps and skiing slopes, you don’t really crave for sea-food, right?
Still, believe it or not – it seems to be easier to eat fish, calamari and pizza’s here, than authentic local Slovenian food.
Until you find restaurant Pri Martinu!
Gostilna Pri Martinu is located in an old adapted house just a few steps out of the central Kranjska Gora.
This is a very cosy and lovely place, with a great choice of traditional Slovenian meals.
Here, you’ll be happy to find soups (their garlic soup is a MUST try), different varieties of meats – from chicken and turkey steaks, to deer medallions, roast pork, sausages with cabbage and fish dishes, to polenta, žganci, goulash and cheese Å”truklji.
No fine dining at Gostilna Pri Martinu in Kranjska Gora, but authentic home-food dishes and generous portions at really reasonable prices (mains between 6,5 ā 10 euros per portion).
We ended up eating here every single day of our stay
Due to lots of options in their menu, we kept coming back. And there were still options left for us to try. There fore, we are looking forward even more to our next Kranjska Gora visit.
We were truly happy to find this place with local food and atmosphere. More restaurants like Pri Martinu are needed in Kranjska Gora!
