Ljubljana Airport’s new passenger terminal is almost completed!
20 January, 2021
Testing of the new terminal and its equipment is scheduled to commence in the following months, while its opening is set to take place in June that same year, just ahead of Slovenia’s six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which begins in July.
Here’s a sneak peek into new terminal construction at Ljubljana Airport:
Ljubljana Airport wrote on their Instagram profile:
“Despite all the Covid-19 measures, the construction of the new terminal is progressing without interruptions. 💪 An almost finished building on the outside is reminding us every day of better times ahead when the airport will be full of planes, passengers and other visitors again.
We can hardly wait for the day, when we will be able to welcome you in the new, modern passenger terminal! “

New terminal will include a large duty-free shop, a new business lounge, as well as renovated food & beverage and promotional areas.
There will be 22 check-in desks and 5 long security lines. A new baggage sorting area will be added to the existing one.
The new terminal will be a spacious fusion of concrete, wood and glass, reflecting the nearby Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
