Ljubljana to get over 80 new small gardens!
05 March, 2021
In Ljubljana, the network of gardens is steadily expanding. The current locations are joined by the Muste Park, where currently 82 new gardens are being arranged.
Slovenian capital strives for an increased level of self-sufficiency. Besides, food production on smaller areas is also an extremely important social activity.
Arrangement of gardening areas
The new garden area will be equipped with wooden tool sheds, toilets, water collectors, tables and benches, and some playgrounds for the youngest, as well.
The works are in full swing, as they want to ensure that the gardens are ready by the beginning of the new gardening season, the City of Ljubljana announced.
So far, there are more than 900 small gardens around Ljubljana, arranged in eight city’s areas.
The gardens are also adapted for people with reduced mobility and a welcome alternative for underprivileged citizens.
