Plečnik Days in Kamnik – between 21 and 24 January!
Vienna, Prague, Zagreb and Ljubljana are the capitals marked by the genius of the Slovenian architect, Jože Plečnik (1872 – 1957). But the master architect left his signature in a small town of Kamnik and its surroundings, as well.

Kamnik marks the year of Jože Plečnik
As 2022 has been declared the year of architect Jože Plečnik in Slovenia upon the 150th anniversary of his birth, the town of Kamnik in the north of the country, one of his many sources of inspiration, will commemorate the architect between 21 and 24 January with a series of events and exhibitions called Plečnik Days.
On January 23, 2022, Slovenia will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Plečnik’s birth.
One of the events will include a stroll around Kamnik (led by prof. Mihael Babnik), presenting Plečnik’s works such as the Kamnik – City Railway Station, the restored Plečnik facade on the Main Square, Plečnik’s bridge over river Nevljica, and the chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, which was renewed in 1956 by Plečnik in his typical style.
