Everybody says – Škofja Loka is so pretty!

Only 23 km (14 miles) from the Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana, you can spend a day back in time in Škofja Loka. This small town is among the most beautiful and oldest settlements in Slovenia. Its medieval town center is the best preserved in the whole country and it […]

Goče, the oldest Slovenian wine village

Slovenia is rich with vineyards, and its wine-growing areas are famous for their wine. One Saturday in the early September, we traveled from Ljubljana to Vipava, a small town southeast of the country – located in the fertile, wine rich Vipava Valley (Vipavska Dolina).  An hour […]

Unique Slovenia Stays: Eco River Camp

Unique Slovenia Stays: Eco River Camp

If the great outdoors is calling your name, Eco River Camp is making it really easy for you to commune with nature. Conveniently located near the famous Lake Bled (just outside the town of Radovljica) – it’s a great base for exploring Slovenia, especially the Triglav National Park area.

Sleeping under the stars

Camping sounds like a great idea until you realize you need a tent and a sleeping bag. Not going anywhere without a bathroom with warm water – is another popular “not the camping type” response.

Before going on with a list, it would be a great time to mention that at Eco River Camp they thought carefully about how to make your camping experience in Slovenia most comfortable.

While they welcome campervans and campers with own tents, they also provide high quality cotton bell tents and handmade super cozy wooden cabins, with single or king-size beds – so no sleeping in dirt in this camp (unless you insist).

You can go for a luxury of a hotel room, while placed in the midst of a meadow by the river.

Or just carry on camping

But at the same time, the more experienced campers can find here everything they need for their fully enjoyable camping stay.

The entire camp is powered by the energy of the sun, provided with large solar panels. The same concept is used to warm the water in the modern showers, and for the phone-charging power.

Further more, their fully stocked outdoor kitchen (with barbecue) will inspire you to prepare own meals in the embrace of the magnificent Julian Alps.

For those looking for a drink by the pool – well in this case by the river – a vintage trailer bar is serving coffees and baked delights.  But switching to a cozy evening hang out spot, with a friendly local beer and other refreshing products at hand.

A campfire pit will fullfil the evening and make your day fully sink in after a great day exploring Bled, Bohinj, Kranjska Gora …

A hidden gem by the river

Only a short ride (car, bus or train) away from the capital Ljubljana, it’s possible to find the beauty and solitude of the great outdoors with the convenience of a nearby river.

You can paddle down the Sava river or take a refreshing dip on a hot summer day.

The campsite managers and camp’s staff will be always near to help you navigate the outdoors with their local tips – from hiking and nature exploring trips, rafting, canyoning to bike rentals, transfers, airport shuttles, and more.
