Discovering Kočevsko is now easier with Ljubljana – Kočevje train!

Passenger rail service from Ljubljana to Kočevje resumes after half a century, bringing much needed mass transit to south Slovenia.

This is great news for all, who love train journeys! Visiting the city of Kočevje and its very attractive surroundings is a great treat for every curious traveller.

Kočevskowild, but nice!

Kočevsko is known as the most naturally preserved part of Slovenia with unspoiled nature and the last virgin forest in the country.

The mighty Kočevsko forests are also home to many indigenous beasts – bear, wolf, wild cats and lynx. The interest in bear-watching tours, packed with educational forest walks and wildlife adventures has been growing in the last years.

Plan a train journey from Ljubljana

The direct train from Ljubljana to Kočevje will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Note that there is no train service between Ljubljana and Kočevje over weekends.

The longest journey takes 2 hours and 8 minutes, with a transfer in Grosuplje towards Kočevje.
